Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Diode Dynamics SS3 Sport LED Fog Pod Light with bracket. This three inch LED fog pod light will give you bright light with reduced glare for improved visibility and safety. This is gonna be a great option for you to consider if you're thinking about getting yellow fog lamps for your vehicle or upgrading the fog lamps on your vehicle. As you can see, I do have the bracket already installed on this light just to kind of give you an idea of what this is going to look like when you have this installed on the light.

But I do have a bracket here by itself. This is constructive durable aluminum and this is going to allow you to install this light virtually anywhere that you want it on your vehicle. And what's nice about the bracket is you can adjust the angle of the light and once you have it set where you want it, you can just tighten down that hardware on the bracket and then you do receive hardware to install the bracket on your vehicle as well. Now let me go ahead and turn my studio lights off here just to give you a better demonstration of what this light is gonna look like in low light or dark conditions. And I went out for a wide view there just so you can see more of the picture here with this light.

I think the best demonstration I can give you is to turn this light around and shine that beam on the wall behind me. This fog pattern is gonna give you high intensity light and as you can see at a very extreme wide field of view. This light has a color temperature of 3000 kelvin. So that yellow color is gonna be fantastic for bad weather like cutting through rain and fog. This has a raw lumen rating of 1,930 lumens and a measured lumen rating of 1300 lumens.

And lemme go ahead and turn my studio lights on just so you can see what that looks like even with my bright lights on. So again, a very bright light, a very powerful beam. Lemme turn this back around there. Try not to blind you. Go back in for a closeup.

Now the peak beam intensity of this light is 9,050 candela. And in case you don't know what a candela rating is, a candela rating measures the directional light output and it's how anything is rated where you want light shining in a specific direction. Lumen ratings are just for omnidirectional output, like regular bulbs where you want light shining in all directions. But for a more detailed description of this rating, you can visit this product page on our website or Diode Dynamics provides additional information that you can find. This light has a power draw of 1.1 amps. This light is designed with a newer technology known as TIR optics. TIR stands for total internal reflection. So unlike older, the older technology that uses reflectors or simple projector lenses, which aren't great at focusing all the light where you want it, this custom TIR optic actually collects and focuses all of the light forward very efficiently. And instead of having another external lens, certain lens patterns have been molded directly into this lens surface. So this is going to prevent the normal efficiency loss that you see with an outside lens. As you probably know, when you shine light through any type of glass or plastic, you're gonna lose some of that light and you can lose up to 10% just from it shining through. So by making it as a part of this lens, you're gonna pick up some efficiency there. Now this does include the industry standard integrated Deutsch style connector. I do happen to have another pigtail there just to show you that connector, and that's gonna plug in easily and secure right into the back of that light. While we're looking at the back of this light, I wanted to show you that this does have a breather patch that's gonna prevent any moisture buildup. And then the heat sinks that you see here on the back of the housing, they're gonna do a great job of dissipating heat quickly to increase the longevity of this light. And this light has been built with high intensity LED chips and it features a durable powder coated aluminum construction. The heavy duty construction is gonna withstand things such as extreme temperatures, corrosion, and vibration and testing is completed to SAE standards, just like your factory lighting components. And in case you don't know, Diode Dynamics actually designed, engineered, and assembled this light right down the highway from us at their headquarters here in the greater St. Louis, Missouri area. Now let me give you some measurements of this light. Looking at the overall width from end to end, we're sitting right at about 3-1/4 inches wide. That's gonna be the same measurement for the height, again, 3-1/4 inches tall. And then when you add that bracket from the top to the bottom of that bracket, we're sitting at about 3-3/4 inches tall. And then the overall depth of this light from the front of the light all the way to the end of our heat sinks, we're sitting pretty close to about 2-3/8 inches deep. Now this light does draw high current and it does require adequately sized wiring for safe operation. So if you are not using a Diode Dynamics wiring harness, you wanna be sure that you're using wiring that's size that's 16 gauge or larger.
